One week to change lives!

The Rural Experience may change your life and will also help change the lives of those in rural communities.

Our current program focuses on the Longreach and Charleville regions in Queensland, and we are working to offer additional interesting choices in coming years.

What The Rural Experience includes:
– Welcome and introduction to the community
Career Spotlight event with local community members who will explain what is involved in their local industries, businesses or professions. They’ll offer a ‘day in the life’ insight into their jobs and invite your questions
– An optional component tailored to your school group.  These options include:

  • Work experience
  • Community service
  • Curriculum extension
  • Outdoor education

– Leisure visits to local tourist attractions, and social activities like the local community horse-racing day, where possible
– Local accommodation for the group
– Three meals and morning tea each day
– All transport around the area and entry to museums/attractions
– The support of a Program Coordinator on the ground
